CHALLENGE
To create an interactive online presence to showcase the findings in our clients’ new book, The Maya Gods of Time, a fascinating insight into how this ancient culture understood and utilised the art of animation.

SOLUTION
We start every web project by listening to our clients, their goals and objectives, their ambitions and concerns and The Maya Gods of Time was no different. Jennifer and Alex’s  shared vision for the website – as an invaluable insight and tool for for travellers, historians and academics alike – was instantly understood by us. Their passion for the revelations at the heart of their research, that the ancient Maya culture understood moving pictures, was central to our approach in creating this website.

We needed to create a simple, stylish and effective interface to share a considerable amount of information in both text, image and video format.

We worked together with Jennifer and Alex to distil a clear interface with distinctive user journeys. We incorporated a map to help guide users to discrete areas within Mesoamerica and within this we carefully considered how to incorporate various 3D models and video content.

The end result is a colourful, interesting and highly interactive website that brings our client’s ground-breaking work alive in an immediate and evocative way. Most importantly this was all achieved on a strict budget.

And of course the book is also featured for those who want to purchase it and dive deeper into the subject.
