Your Story Disability Legal Support and Legal Aid
CHALLENGE
We were invited to design a suite of characters, a storybook and an animation for Your Story Disability Legal Support to help people with disability share their experience with the Disability Royal Commission.
SOLUTION
The design and animation phases involved collaborating with a number of key stakeholders, including Your Story Disability Legal Support, disabled people, disability advocates and Legal Aid to ensure that both the storybook and animation properly represented people with disabilities.
The main challenge of working on this project was to ensure all assets of project were accessible in design for people with disability. With best practice, our team crosschecked that colours and text were WCAG 2.1 AA compliant and that text and image were readable by screen readers.
The end result is a highly accessible and compelling series of resources such as a storybook, a digital flipbook and a 60sec animation for Your Story Disability Legal Support to share with advocates via Legal Support centres across Australia.
