CHALLENGE
Design a distinctive visual identity for the Combined Evaluation of Epigenetic and Sensitising Therapy in AML and MDS (CELESTIAL-MDS) Study, a program running at the Clinical Hub for Interventional Research at the Australian National University.

SOLUTION
Leading Hand Design has considerable expertise in this area of design and is building a strong portfolio of branding solutions for Australian medical centres of excellence.

The Celestial study focuses on researching potential therapies for two blood cancers, acute myeloid leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndrome (AML and MDS), in which blood stem cells acquire genetic mutations and become cancerous. In hand with focusing on the two cancers, the study uses two drugs to help combat the two cancers.

This identity was designed to complement the CHOIR visual identity, of which this study is a part. Our solution uses a simplified illustration of two conjoined stem cells— the core of the stem cell is composed of two Cs which represents the two blood cancers and two drugs used in the study. A soft gradient fill distinguishes the two stem cells apart and forms two Cs which face each other.
